TOMTOM TELEMATICS EXTENDS ITS BUSINESS ASSOCIATION WITH THE DRIVING DOCTOR
TomTom Telematics, one of the world’s leading telematics solutions providers, is to offer The Driving Doctor’s® driver behaviour solution to its customers and resellers in a move that extends the business association between the two companies.
The alliance, which starts with immediate effect, is expected to help both companies generate new business opportunities in the fleet and insurance sectors.
The Driving Doctor’s SaaS offering utilises driver behaviour data from OptiDrive 360, a key feature of the TomTom Telematics WEBFLEET fleet management platform, to help drivers improve their performance behind the wheel.
Commenting on the extended association Beverley Wise, TomTom Telematics’ sales director said: “We are excited to create this offering with The Driving Doctor® and bring this great value-added product to our current customers and resellers. This will generate an innovative and valuable proposition to move forward collectively into the insurance and fleet market sectors.”
The solution, the result of CEO Paul Ripley and his team’s extensive years in road safety and driver training, analyses drivers’ real-time telematics data. Its software then delivers pioneering and crucial evidence-based driver behaviour feedback and coaching education directly to those drivers digitally to help improve road safety and prevent accidents. The Driving Doctor® works with TSPs and insurers to lower accidents, loss ratio and crash causation and this significant alliance with TomTom Telematics is a prime example of such an association.
One of the first TomTom Telematics WEBFLEET customers to employ The Driving Doctor® product is telecommunications specialist, Cable and Splicing Services Limited (Cass).
Commenting on the association, Senior Manager Gary Camber, said: “Cass has been utilising The Driving Doctor® product for more than two months now and the initial results have exceeded our expectations. Our drivers’ behaviour and safety behind the wheel and our fleet’s efficiency have improved significantly. Our overall fleet safety score is up by 68% and we are enjoying year on year fuel savings from our fleet of 160 vans of over £4,000 per week. Our insurance premiums are reducing too.”
Paul Ripley added: “We are equally excited by this extended relationship with TomTom Telematics.
“Our innovative driver behaviour software product can now be promoted with the added benefit of TomTom Telematics’ support and market extension. We have integrated our sophisticated software system into the new and state-of-the-art WEBFLEET product platform from TomTom Telematics. This offers important advice and assistance to help fleets reduce accidents and enhance their corporate responsibility and risk management.”
This alliance brings together two leading and best practice companies, both employing telematics as an integral part of their risk management and safer driving behaviour strategies.
