There are three core components of driving: skill, knowledge and attitude. Skill may be developed with advanced driver training. Knowledge depends on experience, which may be less than drivers suppose; routine journeys rarely present entirely new challenges. But what about attitude?
Attitude cannot be taught, yet it controls everything. Safety is a mindset. Evaluate and improve that, and you will become a better driver, irrespective of skill and knowledge.
To be a good driver, car control is useful but mind control is all. This is the real challenge.
